| In 2007 Korea anticipated its presidential election and the chance for new economic direction. It also was a year of sober reflection on the 10th anniversary of the financial crisis that led to profound changes in business and economic priorities and the 20th anniversary of the pro-democracy movement, which transformed the governing system.
During the year, SERI produced reports that looked back at transformations since the 1997 financial crisis and peered ahead to identify promising growth areas and challenges the new government will need to confront. We also laid the groundwork for an English language journal, SERI Quarterly, and became one of the first Samsung units to move into the business group¨s new headquarters complex in southern Seoul.
The SERI Annual Report 2007 summarizes our activities and findings and organizational structure and goals. We hope that it will help provide you with insights into the dynamic Korean economy.
